ABOUT ALL PEOPLES

our PASTOR: Robert Herber

Robert’s life was turned upside down when he met an ordinary college student who shined with the love of Jesus while he was attending Baylor University. After learning he could have this kind of real, everyday relationship with God, he has spent his life on a crazy adventure.

Robert was a pastor in Waco, TX for almost ten years as the college pastor and then US Church Planting Director for Antioch Community Church. In late 2007, Robert, Stef and a small team of friends moved to San Diego to plant All Peoples Church, not knowing anyone.

By God’s grace, the small group of students that began meeting in his house has grown into a thriving multi-ethnic church. Today, All Peoples has become a global family of churches that is making disciples around the world.

Robert has authored three books, The 5 D'sThe Partying God, and Changing the World Through Discipleship. In his free time, Robert enjoys spending time with his wife and four kids, surfing, fishing, off-roading and watching his boys play football.

The Mission

All Peoples Church is a local church with a global vision. We are a church-planting church and the base for a movement of churches extending to Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. We believe that as we continue to obey the call God has given to our community, we will also partner with him in transforming lives to bless San Diego and planting churches to transform nations.

We believe the Lord has called us to lead lives marked by the spirit-empowered ministry of Luke 4:18.

“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
    because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free."

our beliefs

Our salvation rests upon the cornerstone of Jesus, who gave His life so that all peoples of all nations could have the opportunity to come into right relationship with God.

We are a Bible-believing Church that affirms the historic Christian faith. All Peoples Church believes and proclaims the traditional Christian creeds of the church which followers of Jesus have repeated for hundreds of years.

The Bible is absolute truth and the only infallible standard for faith and practice. We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative, living, eternally reliable Word of God
equally in all parts. We hope that during our time at All Peoples Church you find a real love from God’s Word as given to us through the Bible.

The All Peoples Movement of Churches has a more in-depth doctrinal statement which you can read here.

Relational values

We love first and ask questions later... always seeing, valuing and elevating the intrinsic, God-given worth in others. We call out what is good, are grateful for how we have been blessed, and lift those around us every chance we get.

We do not run from conflict. We embrace that obstacle as the way forward in relationship. So we will run after grace-filled, forgiveness-rich, Word of God-rooted, truth-pursuing relationship.

We operate with the lights on and windows open, valuing truth and integrity as the foundation of our service. We believe clear is kind, and that darkness runs when we live in the Light.

We believe life is made better when you help other people win. That means we serve without selfishness, submit to leadership out of reverence to Christ, and never lord our position or power over anyone. We choose gentleness and generosity because Jesus chose to give that to us.

We are intentional about the environments we create to help people sense our care and Christ’s love in a tangible way. We build bridges of love and trust, and let Jesus walk across.

We ask God to supernaturally empower His calling on our lives, and then we apply ourselves with focus and excellence to steward the strength He gives. We do not shrink back from challenge, but always try our best--stretching into the person God created us to be.
